What Is the GOMIN High-Temperature Resistant Coating Family?
The GOMIN high-temperature resistant coating family is a coordinated range of heat-stable protective coatings engineered to solve one problem: metal equipment that must survive sustained heat, thermal cycling and corrosion at the same time. Rather than forcing a single chemistry to cover every duty, Dalian GOMIN Special Coating Co., Ltd. divides the range into three temperature bands — 400°C to 800°C, 800°C to 1200°C and duties up to 1800°C — so that each grade is matched to the real working conditions of the equipment it protects.
The lower band is built on waterborne pure silicone resin and waterborne heavy-duty anti-corrosion technology. The middle band moves to an inorganic-organic composite ceramic structure with multi-layer flake sealing. The upper band adds rare-earth micro-powders and silicon carbide fillers that penetrate the metal grain boundaries to form a chemical anchor, so the coating stays bonded even when it is applied over rusted steel. Together the three series cover applications from home appliances and cookware to automotive exhausts, chemical storage tanks, desulfurization equipment, petrochemical high-temperature plant, metallurgical kilns, chemical pipelines, power boilers, high-wear corrosive components and chimney interiors.
Because all three series are supplied by one manufacturer, specifiers can standardise on a single coating partner across an entire plant, using the same surface-preparation philosophy, the same application equipment and a consistent quality system. Every grade is tested against recognised GB/T methods, and mechanical properties such as pencil hardness, salt-spray resistance and thermal-shock behaviour are used to select the right product rather than marketing claims.

Why Industrial Teams Choose This Family
Full Temperature Coverage
From 400°C to 1800°C, one coherent range removes the need to source separate chemistries for each temperature zone of a plant.
Long Service Life
Nano-ceramic technology and multi-layer sealing structures outlast conventional high-temperature paints, with a service life up to 30 years in the lower band.
Environmental Compliance
Waterborne, low-toxicity formulations with zero toluene and xylene support green production and help meet global VOC regulations.
Application Friendly
Spray, brush, roller or airless spray, with a wide curing window and ambient surface dry options that shorten downtime.
Thermal Shock and Rust Tolerance
Grades endure rapid heating and cooling — 600°C quench without cracking — and the upper band bonds directly onto rusted steel.
Verified to Standards
Heat, hardness and corrosion performance are tested to GB/T methods, so specifications rest on measurable results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which series should I choose for my working temperature?
Use the 400°C to 800°C series for sustained service in that band, the 800°C to 1200°C series for duties around the 1200°C class with thermal cycling, and the up-to-1800°C series for the most severe heat, wear and corrosion, such as chimney interiors and chemical tanks. If a single application spans more than one band, share the equipment details and our team will confirm the grade.
Can these coatings be applied over existing rust?
The upper band is specifically designed for it. GM-846 combines rare-earth micro-powders with silicon carbide fillers that penetrate the metal grain boundaries and form a chemical anchor, so a rust-tolerant coating can still deliver long-term protection. Best practice is still to remove loose scale and contamination before application.
How is heat resistance verified?
Grades are tested against recognised GB/T methods, including heat-resistance testing for the 800°C class. Thermal-shock behaviour is confirmed by a 600°C quench without cracking, and corrosion performance by 2000-hour salt spray testing on the waterborne series.
What curing conditions are required?
Waterborne grades cure at ambient temperature or with short stoving, which keeps shop throughput high. Ceramic grades are formulated to surface-dry at ambient temperature and then densify into a hard film under high-temperature service, allowing flexible scheduling around shutdown windows.
Are the waterborne grades really free of toluene and xylene?
Yes. The 400°C to 800°C series is waterborne, contains zero toluene and xylene and delivers low VOC emissions, helping plants meet tightening environmental regulations without sacrificing the 800°C long-term rating, 5H hardness or 2000-hour salt-spray resistance.
