GM-115311 Transparent Thermal Insulation Coating

A nano-ITO and graphene transparent coating that blocks 86% of infrared heat and 95% of UV while transmitting over 80% of visible light — cutting coated-surface temperature differences by 3–8°C.

Solar Heat Control You Can See Through

GM-115311 is a single-component, room-temperature-curing transparent thermal insulation coating developed by Dalian Gomin Special Coating Co., Ltd. It is built on a modified pure inorganic synthetic emulsion loaded with two advanced nano fillers: indium tin oxide (ITO) and colorless graphene. The cured film is green, environmentally friendly and non-toxic, yet it delivers measurable heat control: applied objects show a front-to-back temperature difference reduction of 3–8°C, with a light transmittance above 80% after full cure.

The technology works because solar energy is concentrated in the 400–1800 nm visible and near-infrared bands, and the higher the coating's reflectance in this range, the better its insulation performance. ITO is a semiconductor with outstanding combined thermal-insulation properties: it selectively reflects the infrared heat radiation in sunlight, sending that energy back into the atmosphere, while allowing visible light to pass through. The result is a coating that keeps interiors cooler and more comfortable without darkening the glass or hiding the substrate.

Beyond heat control, GM-115311 offers a bundle of functional advantages: excellent aging resistance and stain resistance, anti-static behaviour that limits dust pick-up, anti-glare comfort, radiation protection, and a long service life — all in an ultra-thin film of just 10 µm.

Key Benefits at a Glance

86% Infrared Blocking

Nano ITO selectively reflects solar infrared heat radiation (tested to QB/C0311-2005), cutting heat build-up on glass and other surfaces.

95% UV Blocking

The film blocks 95% of ultraviolet radiation, helping protect interiors, furnishings and occupants from UV exposure and fading.

80%+ Light Transmittance

After full cure the coating stays optically clear, preserving daylight, visibility and the original look of the substrate.

3–8°C Temperature Reduction

Coated objects show a front-to-back temperature difference 3–8°C lower, easing cooling loads and improving comfort.

Inorganic Binder, 300°C Resistance

The modified pure inorganic emulsion film resists 300°C heat, ages slowly, and stays stain-resistant, anti-static and anti-glare.

Single-Component, Spray or Wipe

Ready to use straight from the bottle — air spray for a one-pass high-clarity finish, or wipe on with a sponge applicator.

Where GM-115311 Is Used

Because the cured film is transparent, thin and heat-reflective, GM-115311 suits any substrate where solar heat gain must be reduced without covering the surface. Documented application areas include:

  • Architectural glass and windows: glass façades, windows and skylights where heat must be blocked but daylight and views preserved
  • Building exterior walls: exterior wall surfaces that heat up under direct sun, reducing heat transfer into the building
  • Floors and interior walls: floor and wall surfaces benefiting from heat reflection and anti-static, anti-glare properties
  • Bathroom fixtures: sanitary ceramics and washroom surfaces
  • Paper and textiles: paper and fabric substrates, where the inorganic binder and thin film are gentle on flexible materials

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure the surface is free of dust, oil, grease, rust, embrittled layers and other contamination, and that it is clean, dry and unpolluted.
  • Wherever possible, sand or texture the substrate to achieve a surface roughness of 25–40 µm for better mechanical adhesion.
  • On metal surfaces, hand-tool preparation to St3 or abrasive blasting to Sa2.5 gives the best results.

Application Method

  1. Ready to use: GM-115311 is a single-component product that cures at room temperature. Take what you need from the bottle and reseal the remainder promptly for storage.
  2. Spray: apply with a conventional air spray gun. For the highest transparency, form the film in a single pass.
  3. Wipe / brush: alternatively, dip a sponge applicator bar in the coating and wipe it on top-to-bottom in one continuous stroke.
  4. Drying: surface dry in ≤0.5 hour and hard dry in ≤24 hours, measured to GB/T 1728-1989. Actual drying time depends on film thickness and site conditions.
  5. Clean-up: if application is interrupted for a longer period, clean tools promptly with xylene to prevent the coating from curing inside the equipment.
Practical note: Apply the coating to the full design dry film thickness of 10 µm. Because transparency improves with a single-pass application, avoid re-working partially dried areas. Test a small area first to confirm appearance and coverage on your specific substrate.

Safety & Handling

  • Use only in well-ventilated conditions. Avoid inhaling paint mist and avoid skin contact.
  • If the product splashes onto skin, wash immediately with a suitable cleanser, soap and water.
  • If the product enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention immediately.
  • This product is intended for professional use only. Applicators and workers must be trained and have sufficient experience to operate the appropriate equipment correctly.
  • Wear suitable personal protective equipment at all times during application to ensure safe construction.

Packaging & Storage

  • Packaging: 1 kg per plastic bottle.
  • Store in accordance with national regulations in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, away from heat sources and fire. Keep containers tightly closed and handle with care.
  • Store between 0°C and 40°C. Shelf life is 12 months.
  • For opened, partially used bottles, reseal the inner liner and close the cap tightly before storage.
  • Prepared but unused coating cannot be recycled; dispose of it according to local regulations.
  • Product past its shelf life may be used only after testing confirms it is still satisfactory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is GM-115311 transparent after it cures?

Yes. Although the liquid is deep blue, the fully cured film transmits over 80% of visible light. It selectively reflects infrared heat radiation while letting visible light pass through, so glass stays clear and the substrate keeps its original appearance.

How much heat and UV does the coating block?

Tested to QB/C0311-2005, GM-115311 blocks 86% of infrared radiation and 95% of ultraviolet radiation. In practice this reduces the front-to-back temperature difference of coated objects by 3–8°C.

How thin is the film, and what is the coverage?

The recommended dry film thickness is only 10 µm, giving a theoretical coverage of about 10 m² per kilogram. The film adds negligible weight and no visual bulk to the substrate.

Does it need mixing or a hardener?

No. GM-115311 is a single-component, room-temperature-curing coating — open the bottle and use it as supplied. Reseal any unused portion promptly, and clean tools with xylene if application is interrupted.

Can it be applied to materials other than glass?

Yes. Documented application surfaces include building exterior walls, glass, floors, bathroom fixtures, interior walls, paper and fabric. Prepare each substrate so it is clean, dry and free of contamination, ideally with a 25–40 µm surface roughness.
