GM-115255 Transparent Heat-Reflective Heat-Insulation Coating
A see-through nano-ceramic coating that blocks solar heat while keeping glass and surfaces visually unchanged — up to 0.86 solar heat reflectance with 80–85% visible light transmission.
Block the Heat, Keep the View
GM-115255 is a single-component, room-temperature-curing transparent heat-reflective heat-insulation coating developed by Dalian Gomin Special Coating Co., Ltd. Unlike conventional white or colored reflective paints, this coating dries to a clear, fully transparent film that preserves the original color, texture and appearance of the substrate beneath it. That makes it the ideal choice wherever heat must be rejected without changing how a surface looks — most notably on architectural glass, curtain walls and windows.
The coating is built on a carefully engineered optical filler system. High-reflectivity nano-scale titanium dioxide, aluminium nitride and boron nitride are purified under high temperature and high pressure into micro-aggregated transparent emulsion particles with a spherical and diamond-like morphology and a high thermal emissivity. These particles are bound in a high-polymerisation, ultra-weather-resistant silicone-modified polymer emulsion, forming a suspended network in which every structural unit has a precisely defined inner and outer diameter. The result is a milky, semi-transparent liquid with a solid content of 35% that cures into a smooth, transparent, tightly bonded film.
Once cured, GM-115255 reflects a large share of incident solar radiation — both infrared and visible light — with a solar heat reflectance of up to 0.86. Rather than letting solar energy accumulate on a building envelope or equipment surface, the coating keeps the substrate temperature measurably lower, which helps interiors and equipment stay closer to a stable, comfortable temperature and reduces the load on air-conditioning and cooling systems.
Key Benefits at a Glance
Up to 0.86 Solar Heat Reflectance
High-reflectivity nano fillers reject a large proportion of solar infrared and visible radiation before it can build up as heat on the surface.
80–85% Light Transmission
The fully cured film stays optically clear, so glass keeps its transparency and substrates keep their original color and character.
Hydrophobic & Self-Cleaning
A smooth, full-bodied surface repels water, oil and dust. Rain or a light wash removes contamination and restores the finish.
Acid-Rain Resistant
The coating resists acid rain attack and does not discolour, protecting appearance in polluted urban and coastal atmospheres.
260°C Long-Term Heat Resistance
Stable performance in continuous service up to 260°C makes the coating suitable for hot equipment and industrial surfaces as well as façades.
One-Component, Easy to Apply
Supplied ready to use with no diluent required. Apply by conventional air spray or cross-hatch brush — surface-dry in about 1 hour.
Because the film is transparent and only around 40 µm thick, it adds negligible weight and no visual bulk. Its high elongation and strong adhesion let it follow the movement of glass, metal and masonry substrates without cracking or peeling, while the densely cross-linked binder keeps water and pollutants out.

Where GM-115255 Is Used
The coating is formulated for surfaces where transparency and heat rejection must work together. Because it cures clear, it is equally at home on glass and on opaque substrates that must keep their original colour.
- Architectural glass: curtain walls, glazed façades, windows, skylights and glass roofs, where solar heat gain is high but daylight and views must be preserved
- Building envelopes: concrete, cement render, brick and masonry walls and roofs, to reduce surface temperature and heat transfer
- Metals: steel and aluminium panels, tanks and equipment housings that benefit from reflective cooling
- Tiles, stone and ceramics: decorative surfaces that must keep their original colour while staying cooler and easier to clean
- Other substrates: timber, rubber, plastics, waterproof membranes, paper and organic composite materials — each with its own preparation requirements
Application Guidelines
Surface Preparation
- Ensure the surface is free of dust, oil, grease, rust, loose or embrittled layers and any other contamination, and that it is clean, dry and unpolluted.
- Wherever possible, sand or roughen the substrate to achieve a surface roughness of 25–40 µm, which improves mechanical key and adhesion.
- On metal surfaces, hand-tool preparation to St3 or abrasive blasting to Sa2.5 gives the best coating performance.
- Different substrates require different pre-treatment; confirm the correct preparation sequence for your material before application.
Application Method
- Open the drum and use the coating as supplied. No diluent is required — do not add water, solvent or thinner.
- Stir thoroughly until the product is homogeneous before use, and reseal any unused portion promptly.
- Spray: apply with a conventional air spray gun, using a steady, overlapping pass for an even wet film.
- Brush: apply using the cross-hatch method — lay off in one direction, then cross over at a right angle to even out the film.
- Allow the coating to surface-dry (about 1 hour) and harden fully (about 24 hours). Drying time varies with film thickness and site conditions.
- Clean tools promptly between applications to prevent cured material from binding to equipment.
Safety & Handling
- Use only in well-ventilated conditions. Avoid inhaling paint mist and avoid skin contact.
- If the product splashes onto skin, wash immediately with a suitable cleanser, soap and water.
- If the product enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention immediately.
- This product is intended for professional use only. Applicators must be trained and competent to operate the appropriate equipment correctly.
- Wear suitable personal protective equipment at all times during application.
Packaging & Storage
- Packaging: 10 kg per iron drum.
- Store in accordance with national regulations in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, away from heat sources and open flame. Keep containers tightly closed and handle with care.
- Store between 0°C and 40°C. Shelf life is 12 months in the unopened container.
- For partially used drums, reseal the inner plastic liner and close the lid tightly before storage.
- Mixed, unused coating cannot be recycled; dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
- Product past its shelf life may be used only after it has been tested and found satisfactory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is GM-115255 really transparent after it cures?
Yes. Although it is supplied as a milky, semi-transparent liquid, GM-115255 cures to a clear, transparent film. It does not hide or alter the original colour of the substrate, and on glass it retains 80–85% visible light transmittance, so daylight and views are preserved.
How much solar heat does the coating reject?
GM-115255 is documented with a solar heat reflectance of up to 0.86, meaning a large share of incident solar radiation is reflected before it can accumulate as heat. Its hemispherical emissivity is 0.85 and its solar reflectance measured to JG/T 235-2014 is 0.70.
Does it need a primer, diluent or hardener?
No. GM-115255 is a single-component, room-temperature-curing coating supplied ready to use. No diluent, thinner or separate hardener is required — in fact, no dilution is recommended. Simply stir and apply by air spray or brush.
What is the recommended film thickness and coverage?
The recommended dry film thickness is 40 µm, which corresponds to a theoretical coverage of about 5 m² per kilogram. Practical coverage will vary with substrate roughness, application method and surface porosity.
How long does it take to dry, and how should it be stored?
Surface dry time is about 1 hour and hard dry time is about 24 hours, measured to GB/T 1728-1989. Store the unopened drum between 0°C and 40°C in a dry, ventilated place away from heat and flame; shelf life is 12 months, and partially used drums must be resealed.
