GM-015735 Water-Based FEVE Fluorocarbon Topcoat

A low-VOC, water-dilutable two-component fluorocarbon topcoat with about 14% fluorine content — formulated for more than 2,700 hours of accelerated weathering on architectural and industrial surfaces.

High-Performance Fluorocarbon Protection, Now in a Water-Based System

GM-015735 is a water-based, two-component cross-linking fluorocarbon coating developed by Dalian Gomin Special Coating Co., Ltd. Water — not organic solvent — is used as the diluent, which makes the system low-carbon and environmentally considerate throughout its service life. The base component is compounded from premium specialty monomers, an emulsion synthesized through a dedicated process, and high-efficiency additives to form a water-based FEVE clear-topcoat base. When combined with the matching water-based FEVE curing agent at a base-to-curing-agent ratio of 8:1 (with clean water added as needed), it cross-links into a dense, tightly bonded fluorocarbon film.

With a theoretical fluorine content (by solids) of about 14% and manufactured in accordance with the HG/T 4104-2009 standard, GM-015735 delivers the performance profile that specifiers expect from fluorocarbon chemistry — exceptional weatherability with accelerated artificial aging exceeding 2,700 hours, excellent gloss retention, superior water resistance, strong chemical resistance, reliable adhesion and remarkable easy-to-clean behavior — all from an eco-friendly water-based coating that suits environmentally sensitive and urban projects.

Why Choose a Water-Based FEVE Fluorocarbon Coating?

The carbon-fluorine bond is one of the strongest in organic chemistry, which is why fluorocarbon finishes are synonymous with decades-long exterior durability. GM-015735 translates this chemistry into a water-reducible, low-VOC system, giving asset owners a responsible way to achieve the longevity their structures deserve.

Low-VOC & Low-Carbon

Water replaces organic solvents as the diluent, reducing VOC emissions and odor for greener construction sites and city environments.

2,700+ h Weatherability

Accelerated artificial aging tests exceed 2,700 hours, providing the long-term exterior protection fluorocarbon coatings are trusted for.

Excellent Gloss Retention

The stable fluorocarbon film keeps its color and gloss over extended outdoor exposure, preserving the appearance of buildings and assets.

Superior Water Resistance

A dense cross-linked film resists water penetration, helping to prevent blistering and substrate degradation in wet climates.

Chemical Resistance

Good tolerance to acid rain, atmospheric pollutants and industrial chemicals keeps facades and steel structures looking new longer.

Easy-to-Clean Surface

The low surface energy of the cured film resists dirt pickup, so rain or light washing can restore the original finish.

Applications

GM-015735 is designed for high-durability architectural and industrial environments where long-term appearance and protection matter:

  • Inorganic surfaces: concrete, calcium silicate board and other cementitious substrates requiring decorative, long-life protection
  • Architectural metals: copper doors, aluminum alloy profiles and curtain wall systems
  • Heavy steel structures: large-scale steel frameworks and bridge engineering
  • Energy & marine infrastructure: ships, wind power towers and photovoltaic (PV) equipment supports

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation

  • Substrates must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease, loose rust, dust and other contaminants.
  • Ferrous surfaces should be abrasive-blasted or power-tool cleaned to the specified preparation grade before topcoating.
  • Concrete and calcium silicate surfaces must be fully cured and dry, and are best sealed with a compatible water-based primer before the topcoat is applied.

Mixing & Application Procedure

  1. Stir Part A (base) thoroughly before use to ensure a homogeneous dispersion of the emulsion and additives.
  2. Add Part B (curing agent) at a weight ratio of 8:1, gradually adding clean water as required to reach the spraying viscosity.
  3. Mix the combined material uniformly, allow a short induction period, and filter if necessary.
  4. Apply by airless spray, conventional spray, brush or roller in uniform wet coats, avoiding over-thinning and excessive film build in one pass.
  5. Observe recommended flash-off and recoat intervals, and complete application within the 4-hour pot life of the mixed material (at 25°C).
Handling note: After mixing, the material should be used within 4 hours at 25°C. Reseal containers promptly after opening — especially the curing agent — to prevent moisture ingress and premature gelling. Waste paint and wash water must be delivered to licensed treatment facilities.

Safety Precautions

  • Applicators must wear respirators, gloves and protective clothing, and avoid skin and eye contact with the coating.
  • If the coating contacts skin, wash immediately with water or a suitable cleanser.
  • Do not swallow. If the product enters the eyes, flush with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention immediately.
  • Comply with all applicable occupational health and safety regulations at the job site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is GM-015735 and what type of coating is it?

GM-015735 is a water-based, two-component cross-linking fluorocarbon (FEVE) topcoat manufactured by Dalian Gomin Special Coating Co., Ltd. It uses water as the diluent instead of organic solvents, making it a low-VOC, low-carbon alternative to solvent-borne fluorocarbon finishes.

What are the mixing ratio and pot life?

The base and curing agent are mixed by weight at a ratio of 8:1, with clean water added to adjust the application viscosity. The mixed material should be used within 4 hours at 25°C; after this period the coating begins to cross-link and should not be applied.

Which substrates can this water-based FEVE topcoat be applied to?

It is formulated for inorganic surfaces such as concrete and calcium silicate board, as well as architectural and industrial metals including copper, aluminum alloy and steel. Typical projects include building facades, curtain walls, steel bridges, ships, wind power towers and photovoltaic equipment supports.

How durable is the coating under outdoor exposure?

The product is documented to withstand more than 2,700 hours of accelerated artificial weathering, reflecting the excellent gloss retention, water resistance and chemical resistance that fluorocarbon chemistry provides. Actual service life depends on substrate preparation, film thickness and exposure conditions.

How should GM-015735 be stored and handled?

Store unopened containers at 5–35°C in a cool, dry place away from freezing and direct sunlight. Keep containers tightly sealed after opening — especially the curing agent — so moisture cannot enter and cause gelling, and dispose of waste paint and wash water through licensed treatment channels.
