Description

Product Overview
One formula that rapidly penetrates, emulsifies, and saponifies every form of oil-based contamination — from carbon-crusted kitchen exhausts to motor grease and crude oil residue.
GOMIN Power Degreaser is a high-alkalinity, water-based industrial cleaning concentrate formulated to emulsify and saponify oil-based contamination across a broad range of industrial and commercial applications. The formula rapidly penetrates and lifts oily soils including cooking oil build-up, carbon coke deposits, machine oil, and food-origin residues, leaving cleaned surfaces clean and residue-free.
Unlike conventional alkaline degreasers, GOMIN Power Degreaser is engineered with a proprietary surfactant system that converts heavy grease into water — the result is fast, complete emulsification rather than simple surface dilution. The formula is water-based, non-flammable, contains no alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO), no phosphates, and no nitrites, making it suitable for use in food-adjacent environments and in facilities with environmental discharge requirements.

Dilution Guide
| Contamination type / application | Dilution ratio |
| Heavy carbon coke on range hoods / commercial cookers | Undiluted or 1:10 with water |
| Moderate kitchen oil and grease build-up | 1:10 to 1:30 with water |
| Light surface cooking residue | 1:30 to 1:100 with water |
Motor / engine degreasing (spray) | 1:10 to 1:50 with water |
Industrial equipment and floor cleaning | 1:20 to 1:100 with water |
Heavy industrial machinery (direct wipe) | Undiluted |
Temperature note: Effective at room temperature. Heating diluted solution to 40°C–60°C significantly accelerates penetration on baked-on carbon coke and heavy grease deposits.
Step-by-Step Application Guide
| 01 | Dilute according to contamination level
Refer to the dilution guide above. For heavy carbon coke on range hoods or stove tops, use undiluted or at 1:10. For lighter surface oil or floor cleaning, dilute 1:30 to 1:100. When in doubt, start at higher concentration and adjust on the next application. |
| 02 | Spray or apply to the contaminated surface
Spray or wipe the diluted solution evenly onto the surface to be cleaned. For heavy deposits, apply liberally and ensure full coverage. For motors, engines, and machinery, spray directly onto the surface, keeping clear of bare electrical contacts. |
| 03 | Allow 2–5 minutes dwell time
Let the product work for 2–5 minutes. During this time the surfactants are penetrating and emulsifying the oil layer. For baked-on carbon coke, dwell time can be extended or the solution reapplied if it begins to dry before the dwell period completes. |
| 04 | Agitate and wipe or rinse
Use a mop, brush, or cloth to agitate loosened contamination and assist removal. For light contamination, wipe directly. For heavy surface soiling on floors or walls, use a high-pressure water gun after agitation to flush residues away. |
05 | Rinse with clean water
Flush the surface with clean water to remove all residue of product and emulsified oil. For food contact surfaces, a thorough double-rinse is recommended. Wipe dry. |
06 | Industrial engine degreasing — specific note
For motors and machinery: spray product onto surface, allow 2–5 minutes, then scrub or brush, flush with high-pressure water, rinse clean and wipe dry. Re-lubricate moving parts after cleaning as the degreaser will remove protective oil films. |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is GOMIN Power Degreaser and what types of contamination does it remove?
GOMIN Power Degreaser, also known by its Chinese name Qiangli Huayouji (强力化油剂), is a high-alkalinity water-based cleaning concentrate designed to rapidly emulsify and saponify oil-based industrial and commercial contamination. It is formulated to remove cooking oil, carbon coke deposits, machine oil, food-origin residues, engine grease, and general industrial oil soiling. The formula converts grease into water through a chemical emulsification process, enabling easy rinsing and leaving surfaces clean without heavy scrubbing.
Is GOMIN Power Degreaser safe to use in commercial kitchens and food-service environments?
Yes. GOMIN Power Degreaser contains no alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO), no phosphates, and no nitrites — the persistent pollutants commonly found in legacy kitchen degreasers. The formula is fully biodegradable and odourless. It is suitable for use on commercial kitchen range hoods, stovetops, and floor surfaces. After cleaning, surfaces should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water before returning to food service use. The product is not intended for direct food contact surface sterilisation.
How does GOMIN Power Degreaser differ from the Heavy-Oil Degreaser in the GOMIN range?
The two products are complementary but distinct. The Heavy-Oil Degreaser (pH 11–13) is optimised specifically for removing huang pao (yellow gummy polymerised machine scale) from metal components and machine tools, and is safe for aluminium alloys. The Power Degreaser (pH 12–14) has higher alkalinity and is optimised for a broader range of oil contamination types including cooking oil, carbon coke, food residues, and general machine oil — making it the preferred choice for commercial kitchens, canteens, and mixed-use industrial facilities. For non-ferrous surfaces, the Heavy-Oil Degreaser is the safer choice.
What dilution ratio should I use for kitchen range hood (exhaust hood) cleaning?
For heavily soiled commercial range hoods with baked-on carbon coke and oil build-up, apply the product undiluted or at a 1:10 dilution with water. Spray or wipe onto the soiled surface, allow 2–5 minutes dwell, then scrub with a brush and rinse thoroughly. For routine maintenance cleaning of moderately soiled hoods, a 1:30 dilution is typically sufficient. Heating the solution to 40–60°C will significantly accelerate the breakdown of baked-on carbon deposits.
Can I use GOMIN Power Degreaser on motors and electrical equipment?
GOMIN Power Degreaser can be used for degreasing motors, generators, and general mechanical equipment, but it is not a rated dielectric cleaner. For live electrical equipment or precision electronic components, use the GOMIN Electromechanical Equipment Cleaner, which carries a 25 KV dielectric rating and is designed for use on energised equipment. For motors that have been powered down, apply the Power Degreaser, allow dwell time, brush or scrub, then flush with water and dry thoroughly before reconnection. Re-lubricate moving parts after cleaning.
How should waste water from Power Degreaser be disposed of?
Waste cleaning solution from GOMIN Power Degreaser is strongly alkaline. It should be neutralised with an appropriate acid (targeting pH 6–9) before discharge into the municipal sewage treatment system. The formula contains no persistent pollutants, APEO, phosphates, or nitrites, so once neutralised, it passes through standard biological treatment without special handling. Do not discharge directly into natural waterways, storm drains, or surface water without prior neutralisation and appropriate approvals.
